Termidor: Trusted Termite and Ant Control
Why Termidor?
Termites pose a serious risk to Australian homes, with CSIRO research showing that 1 in 3 homes will be affected by termite activity each year. Worse yet, damage caused by termites is not covered by standard home insurance. In high-risk zones like the Great Southern, having a reliable termite treatment isn’t optional—it’s essential. That’s where Termidor comes in.

What Is Termidor?

Termidor, developed by the renowned German company BASF and introduced in 2002, revolutionised termite control. Unlike older repellent treatments that simply forced termites to find another path, Termidor is undetectable to termites and designed to eliminate the entire colony—including the queen, which may be located up to 100 metres from where termites are first seen.
How Termidor Works: The “Transfer Effect”
Termidor is not a repellent. Termites can’t detect it, so they travel freely through treated zones. Once a termite makes contact with Termidor, it unknowingly picks up the active ingredient and transfers it to other termites through grooming and feeding. This process continues as infected termites move through their colony, spreading Termidor to others.
Over several days, infected termites begin to die. Other termites cannibalise the bodies, continuing the spread. Eventually, the colony—including the queen—is eliminated through this powerful transfer effect.
Why We Only Use Genuine Termidor
At Albany Pest Control, we only use the original Termidor formula—never cheaper generic alternatives. While other products may claim to be “just like Termidor,” independent studies have shown significant differences. BASF research revealed that six out of eight copied formulations had drastically inferior chemical properties. Some dispersed through soil up to five times slower, compromising their effectiveness.

Your home deserves protection you can count on. Termidor has already safeguarded over 250,000 Australian homes and provides up to eight years of protection when applied correctly.
“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.”
Termidor for Ant Control
An Effective Solution for Household and Commercial Ant Problems
Like termites, ants are social insects that live in large colonies and communicate closely. While ants don’t damage timber, they can cause major issues in homes, commercial kitchens, and industrial facilities.

Ant colonies often nest outdoors in soil, rocks, or decaying wood. However, some species move indoors, nesting in wall cavities, skirting boards, and ceiling spaces—making them difficult to locate and treat without professional help.
How Termidor Eliminates Ant Colonies
Just like with termites, our technicians apply Termidor as a liquid treatment around infested zones. Ants that come into contact with the treated area carry Termidor back to the nest, passing it along through contact and feeding. The colony is gradually infected and eliminated using the same powerful transfer effect.
Why We Use Termidor for Ants
We exclusively use Termidor for external ant treatments. It’s proven to be highly effective, environmentally responsible, and offers long-lasting results. With Albany Pest Control’s expertise and Termidor’s advanced formulation, you can be confident that your ant problem will be handled properly.
